Many of you know that I have little something special on my finger...
Well I now have something else with much meaning
on my shoulder.
My mom and I got the mirror image on opposite
shoulders. Since I am mirror image to my mother,
The meaning of it just makes it that much
more bonding for us and strengthens our relationship
over miles apart.
I have been reading about The Buddha and Enlightenment and it has
changed my attitude about the world and we all need to live in the moment
and realize the past is the past and the future we have no control over. We
all need to stop stressing over things we have no control over.
What if we died tomorrow, would you be happy with what you've done
or how you've acted or treated someone? I would rather die with love in my heart than live with hate!
I have always been fascinated with the Buddha, meditation
and Enlightenment. So this is what the flower means to me
and my mother (My best friend in the world).
In Buddhism the lotus flower is known to be associated with purity, spiritual awakening and faithfulness. The flower is considered pure as it is able to emerge from murky waters in the morning and be perfectly clean. Therefore in common with Egyptian mythology the lotus is seen as a sign of rebirth, but additionally it is associated with purity. The breaking of the surface every morning, this leads to it being associated with spiritual enlightenment.
White Lotus: this color lotus is known to symbolize Bod hi (being awakened), and represents a state of mental purity, and that of spiritual perfection; it is also associated with the pacification of one’s nature. This lotus is considered to be the womb of the world. Pink lotus: this is the supreme lotus and is considered to be the true lotus of Buddha. Red lotus: this is related to the heart, and the Lotus flower meaning is associated with that of love and compassion. I couldn't decide which of these colors to
do so I incorporated all three.
Among the books I am reading about The Buddha, meditation and enlightenment, I always carrying my pocket size Teachings of the Buddha.
I feel it brings me strength.
When I feel someone I love needs it more I will lend it to them for some added
strength. I love you Shanna!
